A cultural evening celebrating
Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary will be held on Saturday, May 10, at the amphitheatre of the Kolkata Centre for Creativity in Anandapur. The programme will begin at 5:45 pm and will feature performances inspired by the Santiniketan tradition.
Titled
Oi Asontawley
, the evening will open with a musical recital by Saswati Guha Thakurta and Shreya Guha Thakurta.
This will be followed by
Amaar Ekti Katha Banshi Jane
, a dance drama performed by students of Sangeet Bhavan. The production aims to reflect the artistic and educational values of Visva-Bharati.
Organisers say the event seeks to provide a platform for young performers to interpret Tagore’s legacy through music, dance, and storytelling. The performances are expected to attract a diverse audience including students, educators, Tagore enthusiasts, and members of the artistic community.
