Bougainvillea Movie Review
Helmed by Amal Neerad, ‘Bougainvillea’ revolves around Reethu (played by Jyothirmayi), who is suffering from retrograde amnesia following an accident. She becomes a key in the investigation of missing girls. The film also has actors Sharafudheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda in pivotal roles in the film.

ETimes rated the film 3.5 out of 5, and the review reads, “Bougainvillea, if you watch it without reading Ruthinte Lokam by Laijo Jose, from which it was inspired, can fool you in the first half if you aren't careful. The situation is almost reminiscent of the dialogues Georgekutty taught his children and later almost convinced everyone around about going for 'dhyanam' on a specific date in Jeetu Joseph's Drishyam. Malayalam has never had a shortage for female leads who can carry a film and draw people to theaters. Jyothirmayi was spectacular in the role of Reethu, a perfect example of under-utilised female talents in the industry. Jyothirmayi is the ultimate winner in this Amal Neerad thriller.”
