Adrianna Rivas shares heartfelt support

Adrianna Rivas took to Instagram to express her admiration for Derrick Henry's performance and future. After Ravens GM Eric DeCosta praised Henry’s exceptional debut season, Rivas reshared DeCosta’s Instagram post with her own heartfelt caption: “So grateful we became the part of the Flock,” accompanied by a bird and purple heart emoji.

This wasn’t the first time Rivas publicly supported Henry. Following the Ravens’ close 27-25 playoff loss to the Bills, she shared another emotional message: “From the highest of a mountain or the lowest of a valley, I will praise His name. TO GOD BE THE GLORY ALWAYS.” In another post, she wrote: “Two two—I’m so proud of you. I love you endlessly ♥.”

The couple has been together since 2016 and shares two daughters, Valentina Allure and Celine Amor. Rivas’s unwavering support has been a constant in Henry’s career.

In December 2018, she shared Henry’s record-breaking 99-yard touchdown run on Instagram, captioned “Just watch.” She later attended his 2024 Baltimore Ravens signing press conference with Valentina and Simona.

Ravens GM hints at Henry's contract extension

Derrick Henry’s future with the Ravens looks promising. General Manager Eric DeCosta praised the 31-year-old running back’s performance, stating: “I’m so grateful that Derrick chose us last year. I can honestly just say his attitude and the way that he played was amazing to watch.”

The Ravens highlighted DeCosta’s statement with a simple one-word Instagram caption: “Grateful.”

Derrick Henry, who signed a two-year, $16 million deal last offseason, is set to earn $12.9 million in 2025, the second-highest cap hit among running backs. DeCosta hinted at a possible extension, adding, “We’ll look at that.”

Ravens fans have reason to celebrate as Derrick Henry has expressed his eagerness to stay with the team following an outstanding 2024 season. The sentiment appears mutual. During a season-ending press conference on Wednesday, general manager Eric DeCosta suggested the team is ready to offer Henry a new deal to secure his future in Baltimore.

“I think he proved he had a lot left in the tank,” DeCosta said when asked about a potential extension for Henry. “I can honestly say, his attitude and the way that he played was amazing to watch. His relationship with his teammates, his humility as a player, his work ethic ... can’t wait to see it next year.”

An extension for Henry could solidify the Ravens' momentum, but he's not the only key player requiring attention. Ronnie Stanley and Patrick Mekari are entering free agency, while Kyle Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum are also candidates for long-term deals.

Financial considerations for the Ravens

With limited cap space projected in 2025, extending Henry’s contract could offer relief. His $7 million cash earnings next season rank seventh among running backs, giving him leverage for a significant extension.

For Baltimore, securing Henry ensures continuity in their ground-heavy offensive strategy. His standout 2024 season proves he remains one of the league's most reliable running backs.
